GRATITUDE: Feeling joy seeing Jasper enjoying ceramics (even the studio clean up part) & listening to how thoughtful he is about the process and things he is making. He comes out covered in clay and leaves a trail but it’s worth it to know he is exploring a medium he loves working with.

GRATITUDE: The rare moment (the first for me ever?) when Paul jumped up on my lap and actually settled for a few minutes. Later he jumped down and even came back for a round two! There is hope for a future lap kitty after all. Still super frail today and barely eaten or drank much, other than some bone broth. Tried catching up on laundry and a few chores but was completely wiped and so lucky the kids let me sleep nearly two full hours while Jasper had D&D.

GRATITUDE: Luckily after a full night of vomiting and feeling every sensation in my body for hours, I was able to sleep some once the kids left for school. Feeling weak but so much better (though haven’t risked eating anything), I was able to manage to getting out of bed for the kids’ Spring conferences. Glad both kids are well liked and “excellent students” by public grade school standards. Really grateful for the new lens I have to look at my kids directly and the communication and relationship I’m building with each of them. This has taught me that the real test of “how things are going at school” isn’t ever going to come from the teacher or some imaginary standard of expectations that I have (based on my own childhood school experience), but rather from Jasper and Juniper themselves and being attuned to each their own expressive languages.

GRATITUDE: Not grateful for the mild food poisoning suspected I got eating a toffee cookie from Antoine’s, but thankful it was a Sunday night and Eric was here to help out the kids to bed. I tried communicating via text because I just couldn’t really get out of bed and no one came for awhile…but finally they all realized I was barely alive and needed some help. Will need to rewatch Dr. Strange since I missed nearly all of it.
